Versie Ellen Oden Obituary (1923

Funeral services for Miss Versie Ellen Oden, 91, will be Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Elliott's Funeral Home with Bro. Waymon Ashley officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 3:00 PM. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery, Winston County, Alabama Miss Oden died June 18, 2013 at NHC, Moulton. She was born April 14, 1923 to Charlie and Lucy Fulmer Oden in Lawrence County Alabama. She was precede in death by her parents and three brothers, Louis, Herman and James Curtis Oden. Surviving relatives are sister-in-law, Mary Oden; niece, Marie Oden Andrieski, nephews, Michael and Allan (Debbie) Oden of Columbia, South Carolina. Great nephew Christopher (Leigh) Oden, great nieces Michelle Oden all of Colum bia, South Carolina and Kathy Andrieski Drake of Conway, South Carolina. Versie was a devout Christian and loved the Lord. She had a long and challenging life, was a comfort to those around her with a great attitude and a good heart. She was devoted to her feline companion, Miss Kitty. The family expresses their thanks and graditude to all the special helpers Versie had over the years and recently to the staff at NHC and Hospice of the Valley for their care and concern over her last few years.
